    Embodies Healing with TCTSY

Embodied healing is a holistic approach that emphasizes reconnecting with and experiencing the body as an essential part of emotional, mental, and spiritual recovery. Rather than focusing solely on talk therapy, embodied healing recognizes that trauma, stress, and emotional pain are often stored in the body—and that healing involves working through both body and mind. Embodied Healing will utilize TCTSY (Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga) with a psychoeducation component and interoception processing (perceived internal state).

TCTSY is the first empirically validated, clinical intervention for complex trauma or chronic, treatment-resistant post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) that is based on yoga. The TCTSY methodology draws on key principles of the hatha style of yoga and involves a series of physical forms and movements. To maximize feelings of empowerment and foster a more positive relationship with the body, certain aspects of traditional hatha yoga are adjusted. TCTSY creates opportunities for individuals to take charge of their own experience, relying on their own body awareness.
